Essential, and much welcomed, research on the experiences of individuals who are LGBTQ and people of color recently has been recently released by The Social Justice Sexuality Project. Their work examines Black, Latina/o, Asian Pacific Islander, and multiracial LGBTQ individuals in five main categories from a sociological and political perspective. These categories are:
Racial and Sexual Identity
Spirituality and Religion
Mental and Physical health
Family Formations and Dynamics
Civic and Community Engagement
This research was headed by Juan Battle from the City University of New York. There were 5,000 people who participated in the survey.
